Herman Miller’s Summer Internship Program is a paid, 12-week opportunity that provides a 100 real-world experience for students early in their career. Throughout the summer you will apply academic learning to real-world situations and cultivate leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
As a Compensation Intern, you will conduct administrative and project support activities for the Compensation Team. You’ll perform complex wage and salary functions, consolidate data from a number of sources, and support survey management and system implementation. You’ll also provide ongoing administrative support for compliance efforts and special compensation-related projects.

Support the administration of reward and recognition program and temporary pay adjustments.
Assist in the creation of career ladder templates and job description language.
Review and update job descriptions for compliance and internal alignment.
Research and analyze internal and external labor market data in support of market pricing new and current positions.
Perform complex analytical compensation functions using Excel and/or other computer programs.
Conduct assignments in support of short- and long-term broad-based compensation programs, focal compensation processing (merit, promotions, etc.), survey participation, system testing, and survey system implementation.
Create, edit, and manipulate spreadsheets and presentations; analyze large amounts of data; and perform data entry, data tracking, and maintenance of records and files for easy access and retrieval.
Assist in the design and implementation of other communications and templates for employees and managers.
Ensure the security of the company’s proprietary and confidential information and material.
Work with a cross-functional team to complete an intern project.
Attain on-the-job work experience aligned with your career objectives.
Perform additional responsibilities as needed to achieve business objectives.

You might be just who we’re looking for if you are…
Enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree related to the internship applied for from an accredited college or university, and able to provide transcripts upon request. You must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 to qualify for consideration in the Intern Program.
Satisfactorily finished with the basic coursework in your chosen degree program.
In favorable academic standing within your current academic program.
Proficient using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Able to effectively use the office automation, communication, software, and tools currently used the Herman Miller office environment.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Able to perform all essential job functions of the position with or without accommodations.
