The internship program is designed to give you an opportunity to complement your formal education with career-related experience. The internship provides a stimulating and substantive work experience, coupled with an opportunity to expand your knowledge and understanding of Feeding America.
The Advocacy Intern will work with the Manager of Advocacy to assist in the development of advocacy resources, summaries of key legislative work, and drafting of network communications to enable the advocacy work of Feeding America. (20 hours per week)
Assist in the development of advocacy resources, summaries of key legislative work, and drafting of network communications to enable the advocacy work of Feeding America. Create network surveys, outreach to network members to capture advocacy actions and collect other relevant data necessary to enable FA’s advocacy work
Undergraduate and graduate level college students.Candidates must be available at least three days per week. Undergraduates must have completed their sophomore year of college.
All candidates should have a deep interest in the mission and work of Feeding America. Strong candidates will have related coursework or volunteer, internship, or job experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Professionalism in interaction with coworkers. Ability to positively represent Feeding America on the phone and in person. Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner and with limited supervision. Assertiveness to ask for help when needed. Enthusiasm for Feeding America’s work and mission.
