Job Description

Job Description BAE Systems in Washington DC is seeking candidates to support Strategic Systems Programs Command Information Office. Primary responsibilities will be to assist the Command Information Officer Business Integration unit. Interns will have the opportunity to further develop personal and technical skills and expand their Information Systems knowledge through hands on experience. They will be included in regular daily activities, meetings and appropriate technical discussions. Job duties will include the following:
  • Assist with the research, coordination and writing of various standard procedures and policies related to wide area network integration requirements and functions for new and existing sites
  • Assist with the collection and verification of contact data for wide area network partner connections related to different roles
  • Assist with specific aspects of research and analysis of various technical disciplines such as wireless networks, public key infrastructure, and VOIP
  • Attend and assist documenting various Business Integration meetings coordinating with program, field site, operations, helpdesk, and acquisition personnel
  • Assist with the collection and organization of technical data the Business Integration unit retains for the record

Required Skills and Education
  • Candidates should be capable of writing and reviewing technical documents with assistance
  • Candidates should be able to work independently with periodic oversight and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
  • Candidates should have technical research ability to accompany basic problem solving skills
  • Candidates should be familiar with the high level concepts regarding local and wide area networks, network operations and configuration management, function of various network devices, and functions associated with helpdesk responsibilities
  • US Citizen and eligible for a DoD clearance
