Angelo State University (ASU) has been selected by The Princeton Review for eight consecutive years as one of the top 15% “Best Colleges” in the U.S.A. Among 57 state universities and colleges in Texas, only three state universities (ASU, University of Texas/Austin, and Texas A & M University/College Station) have been listed as “Best Colleges” for eight straight years.

ASU’s undergraduate Physics Program ranked number 1 in Texas and among the top 20 in the U.S.A. by American Association of Physics and Physics Today.

ASU’s residence halls have been recognized as being among the “30 Most Inviting Yet Affordable College Dorms in America” by AffordableSchools.net, a higher education resource website designed to connect students with the best affordable colleges.

Overall, ASU’s residence halls were ranked the 5th on the list, and ASU is the only Texas school to be recognized.

ASU is one of the safest universities in the U.S.A. The ASU Police Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and has been fully and successfully committed to serving all ASU community and creating an environment where all community members are safe and can succeed. In addition, ASUAlert is a unique communications system that allows ASU to send time-sensitive emergency notifications via voice messages, text messages and e-mail to faculty, staff and students. ASUAlert assists in providing a safe environment, enhancing emergency preparedness and keeping the campus community fully informed.

Students through Ellacy/ASU Global Program who are accepted for the Master’s Program in English-TESOL will be qualified for EGE Scholarship which allows students to pay in-state tuition until graduation ($6,395.10 based on 18 credit hours for the academic year 2016-2017) until their graduation, which is greatly reduced when compared to out-of-state tuition and fees ($13,739.10) normally charged to international students. Students who have at least 3.4 GPA will automatically qualify for ASU’s Carr Graduate Scholarships, which range from $1,500 to $2,500. After completing 18 hours and having a 3.5 GPA, students will start receiving Summer Carr Scholarship $500 per 6 credit hour course (up to 12 credit hours for $1,000) when they have taken summer classes. Finally, free summer housing will be available.
