The name Ewha was bestowed by Emperor Gojong in 1887 to commemorate the beginning of women’s education in Korea. It serves not merely as a name of this time-honored institution but as a symbol of the tradition and spirit of women’s education in Korea.

 

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

  • Scholarships for International Freshmen Students

Applicant from a developing country who demonstrates high potential to become a female leader, and applies undergraduate or graduate program via special admission for international students

Scholarship value: full tuition fee (including admission fee), on-campus dormitory fee, plus stipend.

 

  • Scholarships for Registered International Students

Undergraduate registered students who meet the following criteria:

(1) students who entered via special admission for international students,

(2) who earned 15 credit hours without failure in previous semester

(3) who excel in academic performance

 

Scholarship value: Part of tuition fee (The amount will be different depending on academic performance)

 

NOTE:

The Ewha International Students Steering Committee may reduce or revoke the scholarship award upon review, if the recipient fails to fulfill eligibility requirements for reasons such as dissatisfaction of GPA requirement or inability to continue attendance at the university or conduct unbecoming of a university student.

 

The recipients of the ‘scholarship for incoming international students’ must possess a Medical Insurance for the incoming semester in order to be qualified to receive the scholarship

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Scholarships for International Freshmen Students

International freshmen students (transfer students not eligible) who have completed at least more than 3 semesters and completed Level 6 (Intensive Program) of the Korean Intensive Program at Ewha Language Center

 

  • Scholarships for Registered International Students

※ Among the students satisfying the qualifications above, students who have higher GPA among international students have priority to be selected.

※ If the students take Korean courses, they may be eligible for the scholarship with only 12 credit hours earned.

※ The university limits scholarship beneficiaries to those with TOPIK score of Level 4 or above. (Exception: Students majoring in International Studies)
