AUDREY COHEN SCHOOL FOR HUMAN SERVICES & EDUCATION
SCHOOL FOR BUSINESS
SCHOOL FOR PUBLIC AFFAIRS & ADMINISTRATION
The college was founded in 1964 by educational pioneer Audrey Cohen as the Women's Talent Corp and was renamed the College for Human Services in 1970, when it was granted a Charter by the New York State Board of Regents. It started offering business programs in 1983 and its first graduate programs in 1988. It was renamed Audrey Cohen College in honor of its founder in 1992 and Metropolitan College of New York in 2002.
In 2012, with a warm welcome from the community and public officials such as Deputy Bronx Borough President Aurelia Greene, the Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY) re-opened its doors in the Bronx after more than five years. The Bronx Extension Center, located at 529 Courtlandt Avenue, will offer students living in surrounding areas a convenient campus where they can attend classes.
In 2016, MCNY moved to new locations in both Manhattan and the Bronx.

MCNY’s main Manhattan campus is located in the heart of New York City’s Financial District, undoubtedly the financial and business capital of the world—and home to the city’s many major human services, and emergency management agencies and educational institutions.
Although founded in 1964, our new, modern urban campus—which opened in spring 2016—features great facilities and an exceptionally vibrant atmosphere. The 110,000 square foot space makes all MCNY resources easily accessible, from our state-of-the-art classrooms to our new Learning Commons, a dynamic space that houses our Office of Academic Support and Library, integrating extra- and co-curricular resources, activities and support into one convenient resource for the entire MCNY community.
MCNY also offers an array of undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Business and Human Services at our Bronx Extension Center at 463 East 149 Street.
