Thompson Rivers University (commonly referred to as TRU) is a public teaching and research university offering undergraduate and graduate degrees and vocational training.At Thompson Rivers University, student success is our priority. History:

Established in 1970, Thompson Rivers University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Kamloops (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), British Columbia. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Advanced Education, British Columbia, Thompson Rivers University (TRU) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational higher education institution.

Campus:

TRU’s Kamloops and Williams Lake campuses are located on the traditional territory of the Secwepemc peoples, in British Columbia’s southern interior. In Kamloops (from the Secwepemc word for “meeting of the waters”), the main campus overlooks the junction of the North Thompson and South Thompson rivers, from which the university gets its name.

TRU’s faculties and schools offer 197 programs, from trades to traditional academics, certificates to bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as support services for both students and faculty to ensure engaging, innovative teaching and learning.
